All HOLT RAMS CROSS COUNTRY + TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES, as a members of the Holt Rams CROSS COUNTRY / TRACK & FIELD Team and students of Holt High School, must follow the expectations of the program and adhere to all school policies. Current and potential athletes will sign a STUDENT ATHLETE CONTRACT AGREEMENT (*see the bottom of this page to confirm) promising to uphold the following expectations to the best of their ability at ALL times:

- I will conduct myself in a honorable manner and treat others with kindness and respect.
- I will maintain ALL standards and requirements outlined by Holt High School, the Athletic Department Student Athlete Code of Conduct, and the MHSAA.
- The Student Athlete and Parent Handbook must be read (completely) and agreed upon BEFORE an athlete is allowed to compete in meets.
- I will be on time to and stay till the end of ALL team activities including (but not limited to) practices, lifting, meets, fundraisers, etc. (TRY TO STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE MEET)
- I will make THIS TEAM my athletic priority during the season. Meaning, I will not miss or leave practice early for other extracurricular activities, AAU practices/games, open gyms, clubs, and/or any other function.*
- I will allow myself to be evaluated, critiqued, and coached on a daily basis.
- I will have a positive attitude, work hard, give my best regardless of the task, and sacrifice my personal gains for the betterment of the TEAM if that is what is best.
- I will respect the training plans of my coaches and give my BEST effort in EVERY practice/meet.
- I will use social media in a positive and appropriate capacity and never use technology to compromise my teammates, my coaches, my family, by school, and/or my community in any way.
- I will adhere to the Drug & Alcohol policies (ZERO TOLERANCE) of Holt Rams CROSS COUNTRY, Holt High School, the MHSAA, and the NFHS. This includes (but not limited to) illegal drugs, prescription medications NOT prescribed to me, and ALL items on the Banned Substance List - including performance enhancing drugs/substances.
- * - Note - * This list is constantly updated; something that you might think is safe and legal today may be illegal tomorrow.
- If there are ANY conflicts with one or more of these expectations the STUDENT-ATHLETE must submit a letter of explanation and request a meeting with the head coaches. These situations will be reviewed on an individual basis and a decision will be made on the request in a timely manner.
- (Please understand that there is a chance that your request will be denied requiring you to attend practice, a meet, and/or team function as scheduled.)
- Holt Public Schools, The Holt Athletic Department, and Holt Rams CROSS COUNTRY + TRACK & FIELD reserve the authority to amend these expectations as needed and/or add additional expectations AT ANY TIME and WITHOUT NOTICE.
